Larry's Place, on the corner of the Birmingham Street Bridge and Fifth Avenue in the lower Hill District in Pittsburgh, was the model for Caliban's Bar in Here Lies Memory.

This is the alley between The Garden Theater and the Apache Lounge on West North Avenue on the North Side of Pittsburgh, a place, in Here Lies Memory, that has been abandoned by all the gods ever created by man.
